If you're like me, you struggle with the idea of what to serve your family at mealtimes. The day seems to get away from me and I look at the clock .. 5:15! I have not even thought of dinner. With activities for children, cleaning, caring for animals and can forget the "working" meal planning can be a real challenge. In fact, it was a challenge until I acquainted with To Go Gourmet. These food mixtures are simple to prepare and require only one or two ingredients (eg cheese, canned tomato, sour cream or water). I always have something to do and now I have to use leftovers that no one seems to want to eat. These mixtures are delicious by themselves, when prepared as directed. I was able to "change things "a bit and get my own variations on some of the popular mixes.

Jambalaya (aka THE PERFECT left Maker)
This mixture, in my humble opinion, is better than the popular store bought mixes. I LOVE this mix when I cooked chicken or smoked sausage extra. The mixture needs water, tomato sauce and a choice of meat. I would like to add at least two meats when I do. It has a spicy "zing" that my husband and I just love.

Casserole Potatoes with cheese
This is a great dish that can be made into a meal fantastic breakfast! It requires water, cheese and a can of Campbell's soup Cheese. My friend decided he would make a good breakfast casserole to take to a brunch. Well, she was right! She made the casserole, mixed with scrambled eggs prepared and cooked breakfast sausage and topped it all with melted cheese on top. Guests at the brunch they all must have the recipe! What a success!

Pie Peanut Butter
This mixture delicious tart was recently presented at Gourmet To Go product line. It requires block an 8 oz cream cheese and a hot 8 ounces of cool whip. Mix everything and pour into prepared crust (graham crackers, Oreo, shortbread). It requires no peanut butter. I like the spruce things a bit. I added about 5 cups crumbled Reeses mixture and place in a chocolate crust. Talk YUMMY!

I could gather some quick meals for my family with these wonderful gourmet blend. However, I can not forget to mention many other great ways that I could use Gourmet To Go Food These mixtures make great gifts for friends, neighbors and teachers. Put together a little mix (Chilly Weather Chile, Corn Fritter Hush Puppy Mix and Spiced Apple Cake Mix) and a gift pack perfect fall or holiday gifts. At Christmas time I like to put up a small gift bag with some of my favorite pie and dessert mixes. I get comments and questions on products throughout the year!
